Leila recently joined Blackfords LLP in 2018, having worked in Criminal Law since 2008 after completing the Bar Vocational Course, later qualifying a solicitor in 2016.
Leila specialises in defending all aspects of white collar crime, from complex high value matters, including conspiracies involving multi – million pound frauds, also in conspiracies of possession and intent to supply drugs (Class A or B). She has extensive experience in dealing with Confiscation Proceedings and other applications under POCA such as Certificates of Inadequacy and Part 5 Civil Recovery Proceedings.
She is dedicated to achieving the best outcome for her clients using attention to detail and research to ensure the best defence is advanced.
She has a wealth of experience in preparing and being very hands-on appeals, involving complex arguments concerning POCA 2002 and has been involved in several appeals to the Court of Criminal Appeal and the Supreme Court of the UK.
Leila is instructed in civil matters and has experience of representing both Claimants and Defendants in actions. She also defends in regulatory matters.
Leila speaks fluent Spanish.
