Elizabeth is a Solicitor in the Family and Child Care Team and qualified as a solicitor in March 2012. Elizabeth joined Blackfords LLP in December 2016 after completing her training contract and working as a Solicitor for 4 years at Bindmans LLP. Elizabeth specialises in public and private law children cases involving complex and niche points of law. She is regularly instructed to represent parents and children in care proceedings and cross border disputes concerning multinational and jurisdictional issues.
Elizabeth has a particular interest in children matters with an international element and completed an LLM with a focus on the practical repercussions of international child abduction. She frequently acts in child abduction and international adoption cases, as well as other cases involving the use of the inherent jurisdiction of the court and international regulations such as Brussels IIa.
Elizabeth advises parents, guardians, and extended family members and often represents her clients in court. She advises on a wide range of issues relating to children including:
- Domestic abuse
- Contact and residence disputes
- Special guardianship
- Social services involvement with families
