Jo joined Blackfords LLP in 2014. Jo has been working in criminal law for over 12 years and has gained significant experience in all types of criminal cases during this period, ranging from Road Traffic offences to Murder.
Since joining Blackfords LLP, she has become a valued member of the Regulatory Team in the London Office and works closely alongside Gary Rubin. Jo is regularly instructed by members of trades unions, private referrals and recommendations. Additionally, she acts on behalf of policy holders who have the benefit of Legal Expenses Insurance cover.
Jo now represents professional clients who face disciplinary actions before their regulatory body, including allegations of misconduct before the HCPC and NMC.
Jo regularly defends clients who find themselves needing representation in criminal matters arising out of incidents in the work place. The work is extremely varied and her clients are from a cross section of sectors including education, health, security and the care sector.
Jo also has expertise in licensing matters and assists clients who have had their driving licences or private hire licences revoked by TfL or local authorities, fighting hard to ensure they keep their livelihoods. Jo also acts in relation to DVLA matters where professional drivers are disqualified for medical reasons.
Jo is an accredited Police Station Representative and attends Interviews under caution at the police station, local authority and NHS counter fraud. Jo believes that advice and representation at interviews is an integral part of the justice system. She also understands the emotional toll criminal and professional proceedings can take, both on clients and their families and is always on hand to provide legal guidance.
