Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulation

We have a broad experience of representing clients who are being investigated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

The MHRA has many of the same powers as trading standards officers to search premises, seize and test products and to interview potential suspects under caution. Prosecutions in this field are within the criminal courts jurisdiction and carry serious penalties.

E-Cigarettes and E-Liquids

The use of these is increasingly common and governed by the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, which sets out strict rules for the content, flavour and labelling of E-liquids as well as their marketing and retail presentation. Penalties for breaches include substantial fines and prison sentence. The sale and regulation of this growing business sector is strictly monitored by the MHRA.
