Penny Hunter

Overview

Penny Hunter is a Solicitor who works in our Criminal Defence Team based in Woking. Penny has practiced in criminal law in Surrey and Hampshire for the last 15 years. She is known for her dedicated and compassionate approach to her clients.

Penny is an accomplished practitioner who has extensive experience in representing a diverse range of clients including individuals charged with murder, historic sexual offences, fatal non- accidental injuries on a baby and serious organised crime.

Penny has practised in Military Law and is very experienced in dealing with the Royal Military Police and Military Court Centres in the UK and abroad.

• Notable Cases
  • R v T [2020] instructed by a teacher who was charged with breaching the Computers Misuse Act whilst in the course of her employment.
  • R v BH [2020] represented a 15 year old defendant and successfully raised a defence under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 resulting in the Crown offering no evidence.
  • R v R [2020] represented an employee of a care home in respect of an allegation of neglect of an elderly resident who subsequently died.
  • R v EO [2019] instructed by a defendant who was involved in a £240,000 romance fraud.
  • R v PZ & others [2019] s.18 wounding x7 and linked offences, Instructed to act for a defendant who was involved in an alleged attack by members of the Hells Angels and Red Devils on members of a rival motorcycle club.
