Rob is a Solicitor-Advocate within our Regulatory Team; he is the lead Partner for Police Misconduct and Disciplinary Proceedings.
Rob has vast experience in acting in the entire spectrum of criminal and disciplinary investigations and proceedings, from acting for clients during investigatory interviews to conducting hearings in all criminal courts and tribunals.
Rob has a particular expertise and reputation for his representation of police officers of all ranks facing criminal, regulatory and misconduct allegations. He is qualified to advise police officers and staff in relation to post incident procedures (PIM) where there are incidents of the discharge of police firearms, deaths in custody or high speed driving pursuits. Rob routinely advises in respect of the Coroner inquest procedures that arise from these events.
Rob is nationally recognised as a leader in his field and regularly provides legal advice and training to the Police Federation of England and Wales, both at national level and local force level.
Rob’s experience means he routinely advises in cases that are highly complex and sensitive in nature such as allegations of corruption and white collar fraud. Given the nature of the instructions, many of these cases attract significant media interest such as the ‘Plebgate’ and Operation Elveden enquiries. More recently, Rob has been instructed to represent officers and members of the Police Federation of England and Wales in relation to the inquests into the murder victims of Stephen Port and the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel Inquiry.
