Hannah Giles achieves dismissal of 3-Count Indictment

News10th January 2025

The defence team delivered compelling arguments that dismantled the prosecution’s case arguing that the requisite test for admitting hearsay evidence under the ‘fear’ provision was not met based on the material served. Furthermore,  the team argued that any “res gestae” application would also fail, emphasising the strict legal requirements for the admissibility of such evidence.

The court accepted these arguments, leading to the dismissal of all charges against Hannah Giles’ client.

Instructed counsel was Ellen Brennan of 15NBS Chambers
